JobzMall’s video profile is a hiring interface, not an attachment

UX100 · 9 December 2025

JobzMall is the UX100 talent and employment leader for 2025. The interface is built around a video profile. A candidate records it. An employer watches it. The résumé is no longer the thing on screen.

A clip on a résumé is not a video interface

Most hiring products in this period learned to accept video the way they accept a PDF. The list is still names, titles, and keywords. The recording sits behind a play icon that almost nobody reaches, because the screen you scan has already decided who looks relevant.

JobzMall inverts that. The profile you open is the person speaking. The role sits beside the recording, not on top of a document with a media file clipped to it. Watching is the task the interface is arranged for.

Recording is the product, and it happens on a phone

A talent interface that assumes a desktop upload has misunderstood its own medium. People explain their work into a phone. JobzMall’s capture path is that phone: a take a candidate can finish, not a studio setup and not a scanned CV with a record button added later.

The surrounding controls stay quiet. A face on a small screen loses if the chrome is louder than the person. The design bet is that an employer will remember presence, pace, and how someone describes a job, which a form cannot store.

What watching tells you that a keyword cannot

A parsed résumé can tell you the words were present. A video profile can tell you whether the person can carry those words: the order they choose, what they skip, how concrete they get. That is the first conversation, moved to before anyone books a call.

It is a worse interface for skimming two hundred names in a minute. It is a better one for the decision that used to wait until a meeting. JobzMall designs for that decision, and leaves the database view to products that still think hiring is a filter.

Questions about this award

How does JobzMall’s video profile work?

A candidate records a video profile, usually on a phone. That recording is the profile an employer opens. The role is posted beside it. The interface is arranged so watching the person comes before sorting a document.

Who led UX100 talent and employment in 2025?

JobzMall. The award is for a hiring interface whose main object is a person on camera, rather than a résumé with a video file attached.
