Design·Class of 2024
Canva won the 2024 UX100 design award by opening the layout
UX100 · 9 December 2024
Canva leads design UX for 2024. Aesthetic judgment and functional craft meet in an interface built for people who need the poster today, not a mastery path first.
The template is a starting fact
Professional tools assume a blank canvas and a trained eye. Canva assumes a job: a deck, a story, a poster, with type and layout already in a state you can correct. The 2024 award is for that on-ramp without insulting the result.
Easy is not the same as empty. The product still has to hold alignment, type, and brand color as real controls.
More hands on the work
UX100’s design category looks for craft in more people’s hands. Canva is the first-class answer. Figma’s 2025 award is the shared professional file. Framer’s 2026 award is the canvas that publishes. They are a sequence, not synonyms.
Finish is the metric
A design tool that only feels good to designers has a smaller job. Canva’s interface is judged on whether a person ships the page they opened. In 2024, that was the leader.
