Opendoor and the 2026 UX100 real estate award
UX100 · 1 October 2026
Opendoor is the real estate leader for 2026. The interface problem is the uncertainty of selling, and the product answers it with a price you can see first.
The listing is not the only object
Real estate UX is still mostly a brochure: photos, a price, a form. Opendoor designs the decision that happens before a listing exists. A homeowner can see an offer without performing the theater of going to market.
That sequence is the award. The anxiety is the interface, and the number is placed where the anxiety is.
A price with a path
The screen has to explain what the offer is and what it is not. Opendoor keeps the next step attached to the figure, so the price does not float as a teaser.
In 2026 the category still had excellent search products. This year’s leader is the sell side, where the software has to be precise because the decision is a house.
Earlier real estate leaders
Redfin led 2025 by putting an estimate, competition, and a tour on one home. Zillow led 2024 as the search people already trust. Opendoor’s 2026 essay is about selling, not browsing.
